We are immensely proud of the recent consecutive silver medals won by Zubair Ahmad Lone, a snowboarder from Kashmir whose training has been supported by the Span Foundation. In a groundbreaking achievement for Indian snowboarding, Zubair Ahmad Lone from Qazipora Tangmarg, Baramulla, made history by securing India’s first-ever silver medal in the FIS Alpine Snowboard Race held in Serbia. Span Foundation  has been supporting Zubair Ahmad Lone, the snowboarding national champion from Tangmarg, Kashmir, to realise his dream of representing India in the Winter Olympics of 2026. In 2014 he won bronze and silver in the national championships held in Gulmarg. He has been the national champion twice in Manali 2016 in Slalom and Giant Slalom, and stood first in Khelo India winter games of 2021-22. Meeras Mahal at Sopore, North Kashmir, was inaugurated in November 2023. This is a museum dedicated to the collections of Atiqa Bano. Atiqa Bano (Behan Ji) (1940 – 4 October 2017) was an Indian educationist and activist for the artistic and cultural heritage of Kashmir. She established and curated the Meeras Mahal, a private museum of history and art at Highland Colony, Sopore in Baramulla Kashmir. The Beginnings

The Beginnings

SPAN FOUNDATION was founded by my father Mr. B.S. Dhiman and his long term friend and associate, whom we fondly called uncle, Mr. Jawahar Kaul. The foundation was essentially funded by Span Consultants Pvt. Ltd., of which my father was the managing director. Since its inception, the Foundation supported education and medical aid by donating to a local school, the Panchshila Park Dispensary, Balwadi, Smile Foundation and the MSSI. Art for charity

Span Foundation is dedicated to promoting art in our local community by donating art materials to the local village and government run schools which have been closed due to the lockdown. This is done by promoting young upcoming artists and selling art for charity. 30% proceeds of sale go for charity.
