What We Do
Arts, Culture & Heritage: Our primary objective is to promote, preserve, and protect traditional and local arts and crafts. Over the years, we have documented various art forms and local skills to maintain every possible art form. Our work, at present, is primarily in Kashmir and Punjab.
We support talented artists and artisans by providing a platform to sell their work and help them get the recognition they deserve.
One of the critical projects we undertook was refurbishing the Meeras Mahal at Sopore, Kashmir. This building houses the lifelong collection of local artifacts by Atiqa Bano, a dedicated educationist who could not fulfill her dream of accommodating the groups in a museum. The project, also dedicated to our founder trustee, Mr. B.S. Dhiman, was completed in November 2023.
Sports: We support upcoming and promising athletes in achieving their goals of competing nationally or internationally.
Health: Span Foundation has been donating regularly to other charitable organizations such as Smile India Trust, MSSI, Caring People Welfare Foundation Trust, and the Panchshila Charitable Dispensary.
Education: The Span Foundation has regularly donated to the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Vidya Kendra School to educate orphaned children.
Urban Studies: Our trustee, Ms Jaspreet Kaur, is an Urban Designer and architect. She shares her talks, lectures, and also of her colleagues for students of architecture and all others who maybe interested in urban studies, especially with regard to climate change and sustainable living.
