Span Foundation has been supporting Zubair Ahmad Lone, the snowboarding national champion from Tangmarg, Kashmir, to realise his dream of representing India in the Winter Olympics of 2026. In 2014 he won bronze and silver in the national championships held in Gulmarg. Meeras Mahal at Sopore, North Kashmir, was inaugurated in November 2023. This is a museum dedicated to the collections of Atiqa Bano. Atiqa Bano (Behan Ji) (1940 – 4 October 2017) was an Indian educationist and activist for the artistic and cultural heritage of Kashmir.
